Network of Care for Seniors and People with Disabilities Network of Care for Seniors and People with Disabilities was sponsored by a California Department of Aging innovation grant. The project is part of a broad effort to improve and better coordinate long-term care services at the community level. Network of Care for Seniors and People with Disabilities is a highly interactive, single information place where consumers, caregivers, community-based organizations and county government workers all can go to easily access a wide variety of important information. The resources in this "virtual community" include a fast, comprehensive Service Directory, links to aging and disability Web sites from across the nation; a comprehensive, easy-to-use library; a political advocacy tool; community message boards; and many others. The Network of Care for Seniors and People with Disabilities is now in more than 60 communities nationwide. "You know, whenever you hire consultants, you always wonder what you're going to get.
